People who know me know that I've always loved to cook, bake & experiment with food. Unfortunately since about 8 years I'm intolerant to different types of food. It's been a long and interesting road so far to find yummy recipes that are not only ok for me but taste good and add nutrition too.
I know, I'm asking a lot ;-) But I've always wanted to get everything out of life, no matter what.
So you can imagine how hard it was for me to hear that I couldn't eat all those yummy things anymore like croissants, ice cream, white chocolate, pasta, cheese, .... Fortunately I'm not the type of girl that just accepts a difficult situation and feels bad for herself.
I started to look online for other things I could eat, cookies that didn't have gluten or milk in them, nice cream instead of ice cream, gluten free flour to bake my own cake,... It ended even in starting my own allergy free food shop "Gusta" in Antwerp, Belgium. Me? Ambitious? ;-)
From that day on I baked so many cakes, cookies,... that I know my way around the allergy free kitchen by now.
And that's why I would love to share an all time favorite: my frangipane cake.
The best part? Even if you don't have any food allergies it's still a very yummy cake. I will even dare you to tell me if it tasted "gluten free" after you tried it ;-) So please leave a comment and above all enjoy making this yummy cake!
